While developing my subproject, I had faced a problem creating a view with buttons, which appears like dropdown when the user taps on
table view's cell. Seeking the best way how to do it, I googled a lot, read many posts from StackOverflow and all that suggestions were
really shitty, as for me. So, as usually, I decided to create yet another own bicycle :)

What we want to achieve:

So, as you can see from GIF above, this is the menu we want to achieve:

When a user taps on a cell, additional view in UITableViewCell containing buttons unfolds with animation under the cell. When a user
taps it again, or taps on another cell - current cell should fold and new one unfolds.
When a user has selected the cell and scroll the table - the selected cell should be persisted
and correctly redrew when user will scroll back to it.
When a user unfolds a cell's dropdown menu and there are not enough space on the screen to fit it - the view should scroll to fit the
entire cell with an unfolded menu.

Let's try to implement it and create as little as possible bicycles in the code!

Firstly, create a basic project structure. Create a Single view application in Xcode. Open that newly created Main.storyboard. By
default, you will receive UIViewController as an initial controller on a storyboard. Replace it with the UITableViewController and
make it an Initial View Controller. Give a nice class name for this table view, like TableViewController.

Create a cell inside table view, give it a reuse identifier (e.g. cell) and a custom class (let's name it TableViewCell). Set
cell's selection to None.

Now let's work with a cell for a while. Create 2 views inside a cell, where the first view will fit usual content your cell should have,
like, in our case - UILabel, while another view will act as dropdown and contains some buttons - Share and Remove. Check
Clip To Bounds for the second view, so when it will fold, buttons inside it will be cutted correctly.

It's time for constraints! For the first view, we need to add left, top and right constraints with constant 0 to Superview. Also,
set bottom constraint with constant 0, which pointed to the second view. As for the second view, we need do an exact same thing,
except exchange top with the bottom. Also, add height constraint and set desired constant to it - in my case, it is 40. This constraint
will be pinned to an outlet and will be toggled for simulating unfolding action.

Add desired constraints for other views. As for buttons inside the second view, they should not be pinned to the top and bottom of
the superview, because, when this view will be collapsing, this buttons would follow it and decrease their height also, which looks awful.
Just add height constraints to them, and top left or top right.

Finally, it is a time for coding, to make all this alive. We don't need to touch AppDelegate at all, so leave it. Let's start from
TableViewController.swift. Create a class, which inherits from UITableViewController, and add some initial stuff. For this example
project, I took a default month labels from DateFormatter. Turn on automatic dimension for the table view, so cell's height will be
calculated automatically. Also, add helper function, which will allow you to easily update height of table's cells. Pity, but it is the one
solution how to do it for currently visible cells.

By default, UITableViewController conforms delegate and data source protocols of UITableView, so let's describe them. I like to code
them as an extension of the class, and add cells identifies as enums, but it is your choice how to format this code
(pay attention to comments):

As you saw above, we have called some strange method named toggleSelected of the table view's cell. We will implement it later.

What it does is that magic, which resizes height constraint of the second subview of a cell, but without animation. And the animated
version is located in overrode setSelected method.

Why is it done in this way? This method has 2 arguments - state, bool value which indicates the selection's state and animated,
which is also Bool, and tells the cell if it should use animations to update the view or update immediately. By default, when user taps
on any cell to select it, delegate calls setSelected method, providing to it false as a value for animated parameter, and it
does not suit me, that's why I can't rely on it.

So, we create 2 separate functions - one, which does the job, and another - calls the first with animation.

Let's take a look at the source code of the cell (don't forget about comments):

The only thing we missing is connect UILabel and NSLayoutConstraint outlets to the elements in a storyboard.

Finally, you can run the application now. Try to select and deselect a cell; select the first one and scroll up and down, so it
disappears and appears again - pay attention that it is rendered correctly; change screen orientation - everything works as expected.

I think we have achieved goals, which we had set before. Except I don't like that check for selected cell in cellForRowAt delegate's
method - but, again, it is the best solution I came to. Also, it is a shame that after all these years there are no other ways how to
update height of automatic dimension cell but calling beginUpdates/endUpdates.

There is another solution how to achieve dropdown menu in a table view via adding one more cell and controlling its position inside the
table - but I don't like it either because you can't design it as you want to.

Midnight Commander is yet still popular terminal file manager. It has classical 2-panes design, and you can send it to background
using Ctrl+O shortcut and do your stuff in currently selected directory. Too bad, that your favourite aliases and other functions defined
in bash_profile are missing here. That's because the MC sub-shell starts with different args/profiles passed to it.

To fix this problem you need just to point correct profile file to MC:

With a release of OS X Yosemite Apple introduced few new components in their SDK, one of them is called NSVisualEffectView, which brings opportunity to
create semitransparent backgrounds for components.

It's a container, so you need to move everything inside it, choose a theme (light/dark) and that's it. The one most disturbing issue, that you can't
change background blur level - it's hardcoded somewhere deeply inside SDK and there is no even getter for it.

A weird thing that I, as usually, tried to google for it, but I've found nothing. So, I decided to create own bicycle-solution:

You can create a Custom View container with this class and put everything inside. The idea that I'm drawing a rectangle on top of this view
with alphaLevel. It works for tables too, but you need to subclass NSTableView && NSTableRowView.

I tried to make alphaLevel be designable by using @IBInspectable but somewhy it doesn't work for me. It seems some bug in XCode, but it is
fine - I really don't know how guys are live with it - it full of bugs and crashing few times per day.

My bedroom was always located on a sunny side of the house and I used to wake up rested even if I had slept only a few hours. This built-in
natural alarm is doing the job - when the sun is rising you automatically wake up. But, almost a year ago, I moved to new flat, where the bedroom
located wrong, and no matter how much I'm sleeping - every morning is a hard labor for me.

In search of the solution for this issue, I remembered an idea to buy Phillips Hue bulbs, which have a possibility to simulate sunrise. Of
course, as usually, firstly I started to surf the web for feedback on this device and they were so different. Yes, it is expensive and, maybe,
not worth its price, but nevertheless, I decided to test them. So, I found a lot with an acceptable price on olx (online marketplace in Ukraine) and bought it.

There are 3 bulbs and a hub inside the box, which doesn't have a built-in wifi, you need to connect it to your router via cable, which is ridiculous
in 2016 as for me. The good part of it, that the hub is actually very light, so I put it to the wall with 3M scotch tape.

Thankfully, I knew that the bulbs would come with another socket than my luster has, so I ordered adapters beforehand on aliexpress. Weird
thing - there is an info on the box saying the bulbs are designed for an E26 socket, while they suited E27.

I have used them few days and, I think, my feedback right now is still very subjective. Yes, they're cool, a lot of colors, adjustable brightness
level etc. The smart alarm works! I've started to wake up by the light, not that annoying sound of the alarm. I'm not saying that it that help
to awake more rested, but it is definitely help. If I have a usual sound alarm for 08:30, I'm setting an additional light alarm on 08:00 which means
they will light at 07:30 with minimum brightness level and kind of yellow-to-red color and till 08:00 they would light brighter and change color to
yellow, simulating sunrise.

After bulb's installation, you need to turn their switch to permanent on - so they will be always with energy. And for turning them off you need to use
your smartphone. There is a new issue with it - because of emergency situations, the lamps don't remember their state after, for example, power outage.
That means, if in night electricity will be gone for a while, they will turn on and light. Phillips tries to prevent situations, when you really don't
care about anything, you don't have time to search for your phone, you just need to turn on lights - so you just toggling light switch. This scenario
looks like the same for the hub as a power outage. To solve it, I ordered Raspberry Pi 3 and will write a little program which will count toggles and
only if you toggled it more than twice - bulbs will light.

Over the all, I will definitely recommend it to you, if your budget has free dollars to spend on toys. It is a great starting point for creation of your
Smart House, easy installation, and damage-free to your flat's upkeep, which is nice if you rent it.

Choosing an editor is not that easy stuff. I've tried various of them and fall in love with PhpStorm. It has all I need and even more -
IntelliSense, built-in nodejs debugger, FTP client, terminal etc. But it is an IDE - so that means lags can appear from time to time. The
startup time is too long, you need to restart it to free the memory and it seems I can be faster than my editor.

I'm constantly trying to migrate to Atom but it is still too laggy for me too, while Sublime is kind of too old and not that much developing.
While it is still my second editor of choice, I'm primarily working in PhpStorm and searching for the ways how I can speed up it. In my best
dreams, IntelliJ (developer of PhpStorm and other products) finally rewrites it to some native code, because right now it is running on Java -
which is the main issue why it's so laggy.

Of course, people recommends to disable unusable plugins, decrease level of precise of IntelliSense parser, invalidate caches of the projects,
disable something else etc. But, hold on, I love it because it has it all. So I've searched more and found one quick fix which helped me a lot.

So, you need to open your VM options file. You can do it from Help menu of PhpStorm.

We're telling to a virtual machine to use OpenGL graphics for rendering UI stuff. Weird, but it helps. Also, you can increase memory virtual

Internet security is something pretty normal nowadays - everybody tries to follow common rules, like configuring 2FA for logins, using password managers and/or hardware keys etc. At least, for me it seems to be common - I’ve been once compromised and I know how that feels, so every device we’re using in my family and every account is being pretty much secured in some way.

I was using one Google account around 10 years ago and was happy enough until I’ve decided that it’s not cool having @gmail.com in the end of your email. So I’ve decided to create free Google Suite plan and connect it to my domain, so I can register custom email address which will be hosted by Google. The ideas behind it (besides it’s cool) are pretty convenient - I will be always using this email, so even in case if I will change email host provider - the email + domain will be actually same, so I will not need to change it in every service I’m using.

Everything was okay until Google started, first of all, deprecating Google Suite Basic plan and making new features only for standard google accounts. So, regarding deprecation - for old users nothing has been changed - accounts are still working normally. But with features I’m having issues, because, for instance, you can’t subscribe to YouTube premium family subscription using Google Suite account. I don’t really know why Google decided to do so. Google Suite is basically a product for companies, and I think there are plenty companies out there which are creating videos, so why the company can’t pay for Youtube premium for entire organisation? It might be called not family subscription, but still such feature should be available, but it isn’t.

So I’ve decided to restore my old account, and, thankfully, I’m remember password. Yep, on that account I’m having some simple password - 10 years ago I wasn’t so experienced in IT security topics, but was still smart enough to enable 2FA on that account.

Also, about 7 years ago I’ve decided to switch my mobile phone number because I was switching carrier, and back to that days there were no possibilities to transfer your number to different carrier. You probably already know what’s comes next? There are no possibility to recover account without either having access to that phone number or having security codes, which, of course, was lost. I’ve tried to restore access by writing to Google support, but they didn’t believe me, which is fine - anybody could write them impersonating other guy.

The solution was pretty simple - I’ve just checked if my old number was free - and, thankfully, it was - and I’ve ordered it. And my account back with me! Omg, I haven’t use it for 10 years.

The idea of this story that 2FA is great, but what if this phone number was not available anymore, or other guy already bought and use it?

What’s other solutions? You can buy some hardware token, like Yubikey, but you can lost it too! But here there are more smart solutions in case of emergencies - you can just have 2 keys, one is your main key and another is backup which you keep at home. And if you would loose your main key - you can login using backup, remove main key and order another backup key - and that’s it. With phone numbers everything much harder - you just can’t ask some other guy to return back his number.

Developing for Mac and iOS isn't my primary profile, but every time I open Xcode IDE, it brings me another bunch of bugs. This time I have got tired because of the bug with Storyboard,where Connections inspector missing Sent Events section for UITextField or UIButton.

Every time it happens to me, I'm too lazy to investigate why it happens, but not anymore. I don't want to assign event listeners via addTarget or modifying Storyboard in text editor, because I like to design as much as possible inside Storyboard editor.

This appeared in Xcode 4, and not fixed yet. To fix it, you need to search your project (or workspace, if you have a lot of subprojects and/or CocoaPods) for extensions of native UITextField class and comment them out.

OS X El Capitan brought yet another feature from iOS to desktop operation system called Picture in Picture. This thing
allows you to run movie in a separate overlay window, which is always on top. The user can resize and move it around, toggle
play/pause state of the video, and, of course, close it. I found it really useful for watching & listening some interesting
videos, like replays of conferences, while continue working with stuff.

Looks nice? Indeed. But there is one big limitation - you can open a video in PIP mode only from Safari. Not from Chrome or any
other browser. I'm heavy Chrome user, and when I want to open a movie - I'm being too lazy to launch Safari, open that page
and searching for that button for switching to PIP mode. That's why I've decided to create a simple utility which will do that
for me. I've called it PIPGrabber.

The main idea was to create a simple utility, which will open PIP mode for a video by providing its link. I've created it in a
day and tried to keep it as simple as possible, but still have few ideas how to improve it.

The main window contains a text field, where you can put a link to the video and press that Open PIP button. There is also a
menu in tray panel, which contains a menu item called Grab from clipboard - it is handy when you are watching youtube and want
it to open in PIP mode. Just copy it to the clipboard and click on that menu item. By they way, did I told you that
PIPGrabber works with youtube? Just provide a link to any youtube video and it will be opened in PIP mode. Nice, huh?

This utility also has built-in auto updater, so when I will release a new version of it, you will get a message.

I know, that there are a lot of similar tools in Chrome Extension Store, but they're using a browser for achieving PIP mode,
which uses a lot of resources for displaying it. Why we just can't use the built-in stuff? Actually, even Apple not allowing to
use this PIP mode to developers, and I'm really not sure why. But I've found on the Internet an article, where some dude found
this PIP framework deeply inside system files and run it through utility, which extracts header files from it. They need for
investigation of framework's API and, actually, for use in your project. It is really a question to Apple, why the feature,
which was presented in the previous version of the operation system, still yet not available for developers?

Anyway, I've solved this issue for me and want to share a solution to you :)

P.S. By the way, recently I've switched this blog and all other related services to HTTPS using CertBot, which is
using Let's Encrypt for generating SSL certificates. It is super easy, and if you have not done this yet - you should definitely
give it a try. I've constantly postponed SSL switch for months until I've decided to release PIPGrabber. The thing is, that I'm
using Sparkle framework for auto updates, and it requires (not actually requires, but really wants me to do it) an SSL for
securing updates, because half a year ago, or maybe even more, there were an incidents with different software using this framework.
When users tried to do an auto update of software, which is hosted at a non-encrypted website, malware attacked their computers via
man-in-the-middle attacks. You never know where danger can come from, so even because of a small utility, I've switched to SSL.

In short - a little more than a month ago our so-called cyber-police shut downed one of the biggest service providing the largest catalog of
movies - FS.to. By the way, I developed a bot for Telegram for it - of course, it doesn't work right now. This service was providing illegal
content, which is bad, but the main thing is that we don't have anything legal in Ukraine with the same database of films. We have only
Megogo, divan.tv and oll.tv, which are really poor - I couldn't find even Big Bang Theory episodes on any of them.

A few days later, another big service called EX.ua decided that they don't want to take a part in this comedy and gave up before police
took an action - they just shared an info that they will close in a week.

It is really disgusting. Don't take me wrong, piracy is not good. But we don't have anything legal to watch on, with big database and features
on top of it and stable connection in prime time. Really. Do you know such service in Ukraine? Or which can be easily used in Ukraine.

I had searched for a replacement, tried few different resources, and right now I'm using kino.pub, which has big database of different movies
and premium subscription, which supposed to provide only movies with better video quality, but, in my case, somewhy I just can't watch anything
without having premium subscription :) Anyway, it is not a big deal (costs about $3), better than nothing.

I'm really disappointed that in 2016/17 we still don't have anything like Netflix - an application, which you can install on your devices,
including Apple/Android TV, and watch movies, track episodes etc. Well, actually we have Netflix in Ukraine, and Amazon Prime also
launched a few days ago here, but their database of allowed movies for Ukraine region is really poor, sadly.

Right now the only choice for me is opening movie on iPhone and send it to TV via AirPlay. It works, but:

You can't use your iPhone while you are watching
It consumes more battery of iPhone
Pausing a movie can cause AirPlay to disconnect for saving energy

As EX.ua administration said in their 'shutdown' message:

I hope movie content managers someday will finally agree on something and we would have something like Netflix here, in Ukraine. Or, maybe,
Netflix will act and grow their database, who knows.
